Erin Williams, Associate Director of the Youth Ministry

Erin Williams was born in Corpus Christi, Texas (hometown of Whataburger), and is in her sixth year of full-time youth ministry.

Erin grew up in a wonderful, loving home with the best family ever - Clark and Susan, her parents, and Brooke, her sister and best friend.  (Now Brooke's married to a great guy named Joel, and they have a baby girl named Ruth!)  Throughout her childhood and teenage years, Erin loved spending weekends at her hunting lease in South Texas with her family, being a cheerleader in high school, and going to church at First United Methodist Church. She became active in her youth group in 7th grade and has loved church and youth ministry ever since. Erin served on the FUMC youth leadership team for six years, was a counselor at junior high and high school summer camps, and was president of the group when she was a senior.

In 1998, Erin graduated from W.B. Ray High School in Corpus and went to the best college in the world, The University of Texas at Austin. While in college, she held an office in her sorority and worked as a fitness instructor and program assistant for the Fitness/Wellness Department of the Division of Recreational Sports at UT. Throughout college, Erin studied hard, made great friends, and grew tremendously in her relationship with God.

Erin spent the summers during her college years working with youth in Christian ministry. In 1999, she returned to FUMC in Corpus to be a youth intern for her home youth group, and in 2000, she was a counselor at Laity Lodge Youth Camp in Leakey, Texas. Erin loved everything about these summer experiences! She felt blessed to worship, enjoy fellowship, work hard, and play hard in both the church and camp setting.

In May of 2002, Erin graduated from UT with a double major in the Plan II Honors Program and English and a minor in art history. She moved to Dallas shortly after and began working in the youth ministry at Christ United Methodist Church, Plano, in January of 2003. Now, her sixth year into the job, Erin still finds herself blessed beyond belief as she has the opportunity to serve awesome teenagers and a great congregation every day of the week.

In May of 2008, Erin received her Master of Theological Studies at Perkins School of Theology.  Since graduation, she has enjoyed more hours in the office and more free time at home and with friends!  She looks forward to God's continued guidance in her life and ministry.
